How many of us can still remember our very first clown appearance? When was it? Where was it? Whom was it for? What did you do?
Can you still remember how you felt?
Well today was "SPANNER's" very first time to get the feeling. For a number of years now my daughter CRAFTY the clown and I have a gig at a big shop where we perform every last Sunday of the month. She normally does facepainting while I do meeting and greeting, funny bits of business and lots of balloons.
Today Spanner went there with us and got his first feel for a 2 hours gig.
I must say, he didn't do too bad. I think it might have been a little bit easier for him at his first performance because he had both his mentor (me) and his future wife (my daughter) there to ment and "guide" him.
Most of us didn't had this when we did our first appearance and I feel good that I could be there for one of our future clowns.
Break a leg Spanner, you can be proud on yourself, BUT, don't get big headed, there is still a lot of hard WORK ahead! Happy clown

Spanner the clown made his second clown appearance with me earlier today. At first his nerves was a little bit of a hazzle for him but I gave him space to get into thin :o)gs. He also experienced what it feels like to be in a hot costume and make-up on a hot summers day, but because his make-up was applied the proper way it lasted throughout the gig.
I had one of those "golden moments" when a very appreciative (rather small) croud really enjoyed a little impromptu interaction with me and my balloons.
All in all I think we are beginning to get there with Spanner.
