I am a big thumb tip fan. I call my handkerchief "Bebo". I first start with pretending to hide bebo  in plain site and let the kids point him out. Then I finally thumb it and make it disappear..... this time when it is gone I argue with them that it is still there... eventually I get the kids to make bibo disappear.... when they cant do it I tell them the magic word "Zimbawenamokadotawenawesahere" and then the kids can make him disappear.

All clowns that are using any type of magic in their shows should do that with respect. Magicians and clowns spend a lot of time on their respective arts. Some clowns out there doesn't treat magic and/or magic props with the required skill to do it properly and by doinf that they are exposing the magic behind the magic trick or prop. So Spanner, remember when we get to the magic side of things, such as the thumbtip that Zimbo is referring to, we will also learn to respect any and all magic that we do.
My favourite prop? My clown's character. Why? Doesn't matter what skill I am using, be it balloons, magic, juggling, bubbles, skits, routines, without character it's nothing.
